Course Description
The Occupational First Aid course is a QQI Level 5 course. It is the only first aid course currently recognised by the Health & Safety Authority in Ireland for workplace first aid and fulfills the requirements of the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work (General Applications) Regulations 2007. This course will include an emphasis on dealing with accidents in a food preparation or kitchen environment, so is ideal for anyone working or seeking to work in the food industry.
Price includes all materials and a written or oral exam.
Award: Following successful completion of the course and examinations, participants will be awarded a QQI Level 5 Certificate in Occupational First Aid. This certificate is recognised by the Health & Safety Authority and is valid for 2 years from the date of issue after which individuals would need to complete a one day refresher course to stay certified as occupational first aiders

Module 2: Patient Assessment
Module 3: Respiratory Emergencies
Module 4: Cardiac First Response
Module 5: Wounds and Bleeding
Module 6: Altered Levels of Consciousness
Module 7: Musculoskeletal Injuries
Module 8: Burns & Scalds, Chemical/Poisons, Electric Shock
ACDC is not required under Section 43, the Qualifications Act (1999) to have protection for learner arrangements in place
